Here's the Step by Step Breakdown:
- STEP 1: MAKE A VIDEO Make a video of you and/or your crew doing The JUMP (official dance - youtube.com/jamaica50canada) to the JUMP FOR JAMAICA ALL STARS ANTHEM or VOICING to the INSTRUMENTAL VERSION of the song (free with album purchase). Do the best you can with your video, of course. But remember, it's not a videomaking contest! Use a great camera, sure, if you have one. Or you can simply use your phone. It's just important your talent shines through. It's a talent contest!
- STEP 2: COMPLETE THE ONLINE ENTRY Indicate what category you'd like your video to be entered - dance or voice. Be sure to include the link to your JUMP FOR JAMAICA TALENT CONTEST video entry plus any other information that will help make you and/or your crew, stand out and win - maximum of 3 (three) links including the one to your entry video. You can provide two additional links to other videos, performance images, audio tracks, etc.
- STEP 3: UPLOAD & SHARE Upload your video to one of your online profiles - wherever you like - Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. and Share your video entry with the world! Be sure to also Share the link to your video on the Jamaica50canada Facebook Fan Page! Share your the link to your video entry with all your family, friends, Fans and Followers and get them to promote your video. Get them to Like, Comment and Share your video. The entries with the most Likes will stand a better chance of getting our judges' attention. ***The entry deadline is MIDNIGHT August 5th, 2012.
- STEP 4: MAKE IT TO THE SEMI FINALS A panel of entertainment industry professionals along with top artists from the song will handpick the 5 (five) best videos from all the entries - worldwide. These 5 semi-finalists will advance to the final round. Your Friends' Likes count for 50% of the Judges decision. The judges' decision is final.
- STEP 5: WIN The 5 semi-finalists - Talents of Tomorrow - will be invited to participate in a live head-to-head competition video showdown in front of a panel music industry heavy hitters and the world - at Jambana™on Independence Day, August 6th @ 6. The finals will be hosted by G98.7 and will be broadcast live-to-air. Be available on your webcam to chat live with the host. Or if you're in Toronto, you'll be invited to appear live on stage at the finals to introduce your video. The Winners will be selected by audience vote. There will be two winners - one in Dance and one in Voice! Each will receive the Grand Prize Package for their category.
Judging Criteria
VIDEOS WILL BE JUDGED IN TWO CATEGORIES ON THE FOLLOWING:
- Performance, skill and clarity of artistic talent
- Talent originality and creativity
- Demonstration of being ready for the world stage
- Overall Impression and use of Jump For Jamaica song or music
